Above is a demo of Minimal Movement, an abstract Flash animation dealing with issues of perception, movement and time, which should take no more than a couple of minutes (179 kb) to download. To read more on the thinking behind this project, see the About page. Over a hundred objects were created and then programmed so that elements such as movement, colour, speed, size are randomly generated within various parameters. The odds of seeing the same thing twice is infinitesimally small, and the experience of it is different from watching traditionally time-bound film. After finishing, Minimal Movement, artafterscience went on to create Syntax, which focuses on the use of photography and can be seen here. You can also see an animation based on your own comments by entering them into the guestbook, but you will need a Flash player to view this. |
